do self check to prevent cancer
TWO months Ago or more I thinkI started thinking about cancer because MY boob the one on the left started looking bad I mean I got those lil balls.dont know how the heck u call it but I did some tests and yeah I dont have it thank god=]
God bless the women with breast cancer. I have sympathy for those who’s in this situation.
I had a lumpectomy and nodes removed. After surgery I locked in a coma for 5 hours. Came out but still didn’t move or talk for 4 days. Anaethesia was more scary for me than the surgery. Recovery went fine. Should I ever have to do it again, just give me a bottle of whiskey, please.
Simple mastectomy (or “total mastectomy”): In this procedure, the entire breast tissue is removed, but axillary contents are undisturbed. Sometimes the “sentinel lymph node”–that is, the first axillary lymph node that the would be expected to drain into—is removed. This surgery is sometimes done bilaterally (on both breasts) on patients who wish to undergo mastectomy as a cancer-preventative measure. Patients who undergo simple mastectomy can usually leave the hospital after a brief stay.
… sphychological aspect of this must be terrible, I take my hat off to all women undergoing this procedure and think there very brave. Lets hope ashleigh its nothing serious
i went to my doctor a couple weeks ago cause i have a lump the size of a golf ball in my breast….he told me i shouldnt worry because he could grab it and move it around a bit so it probably isnt cancer. you wrote the exact opposite so now i’m just confused…is it or isnt it supposed to move and if it does, what does it mean…cause i checked and you can move mine around a bit
My nurse was an RN from the Health Department. Either way, if a lump moves or does not move, it could be cancer (this is what my breast surgeon told me). My lump was 3.5 cm (which was the size of a golf ball as well). I am 36 yrs old (35 at the time) and thought I was much too young for this. The lump came up somewhat suddenly, so I thought it was a fibrocystic mass because I drink lots of caffeine. I was very scared, and did nothing for 7 mos about it. You should get a 2nd opinion for sure.
haha you thought you were too young..i’m 16 :S but i had a scan done and im going for the results tomorrow. thats why ive been looking at all these lumpectomy vids, just in case
Please ask to be referred for a mammogram, and let the radiologsist decide if it should be biopsied. Even cysts can be biopsied–the fluid drained and sent to a lab. Just to be sure. I had a cyst drained and it was so easy.
